Yves Kläy

PhD Candidate in Political Economy

About me

I am a PhD candidate at the Chair of Fiscal and Economic Policy at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. I do research in the field of political economy and focus on public choice, political representation and incentives and constraints shaping individual and thus social choice.
I am also currently working at the Institute for Swiss Economic Policy (IWP) in Lucerne, Switzerland. There I help to run the online platform Parlameter, which measures Swiss politics in a way that is publicly accessible to everyone and thus makes it more transparent.

Our article Congruence of female and male legislators with the preferences of women and men has just been accepted by Economics Letters. The preprint is available here.

I am looking forward to presenting our latest research project Decision-Makers as Decision-Shapers: Evidence on Legislators' Influence on Voters' Preferences on September 26 at the Cookie Seminar of the University of Fribourg.
